Genuine Bolga Baskets are synonymous with the villages Gambigo, Nyarga and Sumbrungu in Bolgotanga, Northern Ghana. The baskets are expertly hand-woven from local elephant grass and brightly coloured by using vegetable dyes.

Toulouse Geese

The breed is a good layer of eggs, producing as well as any other goose breed and generally has a placid disposition. They rarely have problems producing fertile eggs. A good goose will lay up to 160 eggs a year These are very domesticated birds and they do not need water or a pond. However, being water fowl, they love bathing and playing in water and will also mate in water. They are not great wanderers, preferring to stay close to home, making them ideal for a large garden or orchard, where they will thrive. Interestingly, individual geese vary, and others thrive in mixed flocks and become severely aggressive, biting and hissing, while others are placid and prefer to follow around smaller ducks as opposed to other geese.

Araucana Chickens

The Araucana is originally from South America. Because of its unusual trait of laying BLUE/GREEN eggs, it is also know as the ‘Easter Egg Chicken’! The Araucana is a very hardy fowl, It comes in a range of colours & is an good forager & their egg laying ability is excellent. Muscovy Ducks

Recommended for: anyone wishing to keep ducks

Muscovies are the all time versatile pet -they are interesting looking, cheap to run and are also edible. If you have enough of these birds you can make a quilt!

Muscovies have very few ailments and are hardier than other domestic duck breeds. Care must be taken to provide ducklings with shallow water troughs to prevent them from drowning. Ducklings must also be warm and dry before nightfall or in very cold weather as they have limited ability to restore lost body heat.

Baldy Cattle

Beef cattle produced by crossing Hereford cattle with a solid black breed, usually Aberdeen Angus. The breed known as a black Angus has been selected for strong marbling qualities in the meat. As a result, it has actually started to replace the Hereford cattle in the United States as the top beef breed.
